“We worked on a large detached house in Horsley with David Venn and his team at Acer Developments. The project involved the removal and reorientation of existing walls to create a large open plan kitchen/dining space, with adjacent boot room/utility and pantry. The property was a modern house occupied by a young family, who were resident during the works. It was a complex project in terms of supporting existing structures and working with many restrictions due to the nature of the original building methods. Hence the team needed to be flexible in their approach and make provision for, and be respectful of the fact that individuals were living in the property, especially given the work was considerably intrusive. David was a pleasure to work with. A very pleasant demeanour, even when things weren’t going his way he still approached all tasks with a smile on his face. Everything we required in terms of providing the kitchen was done as requested. Communication was excellent and the work progressed smoothly and very quickly. “When we put out for quotes to do work on our home the decision was made very easy by the response and quote we received from David Venn and his team. “We had a dilemma which was how to produce a large patio in our garden of our self-build bungalow. Neither my wife or myself had any concrete ideas, other than we desperately wanted to rid ourselves of the concrete plinth that we had been living with for fifteen years. Acer Developments were contacted and paid us several visits to discuss our requirements, to talk through the possibilities. Things we’d never considered like patio drainage, were carefully explained to us, including the need for several buried soak-a-ways around the periphery of the patio. Acer produced several drawings of their proposals as well as excellent easy to understand costings. Within a few weeks Acer were ready to start construction, everything about their operation impressed, everything was carefully planned such that my wife and I would enjoy the minimum of inconvenience during the build. Every evening the site was left in the tidiest condition possible, we were constantly amazed by the daily progress. Acer’s staff were always polite and personable, which added to the rapid build process made daily life with Acer on site really enjoyable! The finished article as you can see is beautiful, everything we could have ever desired and more, all on financial budget and finished on time.
